GLOUCESTER 400 was an international commemorative medal competition for the city of Gloucester, MA’s 400th anniversary. I was selected as a finalist for my medal design, America’s Oldest Seaport, depicting the “Man at the Wheel” fisherman on the obverse side and a whale surfacing in front of Annisquam lighthouse on the reverse side. My father was born and raised in Gloucester, so the project held special meaning for me and was an honor to make a small contribution to a city with so much history.
